Tributes from many

Tributes, from around the world, have been coming in over the phone, in-person and via email. Here are a few extracts:

"My heart and soul grieve for her.  I will always knew that the brother-sister connection between the late Dr Herman Sharma of USA and Dr Tara Sharma were meant to be. A chapter of history has been closed and another chapter will continue."

"She was an inspirational woman and a pioneer in her times as a physician in conservative Rajasthan.  She will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her."

*******************

".She had a good, full life and she must be happy that she is with your dad [KN Sharma].

It was a long, perfect partnership and they need to be together again."

" May God bless her soul"

  1. A Branch may Ebb and Flow in a Family Tree, but is never broken ONCE THERE IS LIFE and HOPE...In Honor of Dr Tara Sharma

My Grandfather,Dr & Atty. Ramnarine Sharma, was Auntie's Uncle who hastely left India to pursue freedom and justice among Indians of the British Empire. Among Gandhi's followers, he travelled to South Africa and the West Indies. In Guyana, Ramnarine Sharma met and married my grandmother. This new family resulted in the birth of Herman S. Sharma. My grandfather, still eager to help the indentured farmers, travelled to Trinidad. He was killed at the youthful age of 35 and this ended any further communication. Auntie's father still wondered where his beloved brother Ramnarine was. In 1952, Uncle Kailash, while on a Fullbright Scholarship to Mount Sinai Hospital for his Anesthesiology residency in NYC.was by chance introduced and reunited to Tara's family through Uncle Kailash. My father states that it was Auntie Tara and her father never gave up hope. "The light that went out 32 years ago when her Uncle died was rekindled once again." Auntie and her 1st Cousin, Dr Herman Sharma and Family reunited in Jaipur on October 17, 1973.
37 years from this week they are reunited in spirit; because of bold pursuits in education and professions. There are stronger forces beyond our control that God, Krishna, or Buddha cannot break for us to be proud of as a result of Dr Tara's life.
